| HEALTH TIPS & INFORMATION |

Summer is Here!
- Summer Physicals: Many children will need physicals for camp and sports, as well as, school evaluations and immunizations. Please try to schedule your appointments early in the summer, so that we may see your child at the most convenient time for you. Please remember that most insurances will only permit one check-up per year for children 3 years of age or older, so check with us if you are uncertain when your child is due for his or her annual examination. Of course, it is always your responsibility to confirm with your insurance provider what the benefits are with your specific plan.
- Sunscreen:
It's important to remember to protect your children from too much sun. Sun exposure, especially burns in the younger years, have been linked to an increased rate of skin cancer. Infants over 6 months and young children should always use sunscreen of at least 30 S-P-F when playing outside. Try to avoid being outside from 10 until 2 when the sun is the strongest. Also, encourage your teenagers not to sunbathe without protection.
Phone Nurses are available to help answer your non-urgent questions regarding medical care and advice Monday - Friday from 8am - 4:30 pm. Please call and leave a voice message for a phone nurse at any location; your call will be returned within a reasonable time. For more information, please refer to our Helping Hands or Ask A Doctor. |

- Accompanied by a Parent: All children, including teens need to be accompanied by a parent/adult if receiving any type of injection. Even 18 year olds need to have a parent present before a vaccine can be given. So parents, please, take the time to be with your child if they are scheduled to get any vaccine at our office. We know this is an inconvenience but we are committed to this policy for safety purposes.
- Billing: Pediatric Associates will be happy to work with anyone on an unpaid balance. Please remember that if you have a patient due balance, payment must be received every 30 days to prevent the account from being sent to collections. Please call our Billing Department 8am - 5pm to discuss your questions and/or options.
